Transitions Highlights
Transitions focuses upon helping students to learn about themselves,
to learn about career possibilities, and to make connections between the
two. Transitions is a vehicle for schools to meet or exceed the North
Central Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement Standard to
maximize the proportion of promoted or graduated students who are prepared
to make successful school-to-school, school-to-work, or home-to-school
transitions. Transitions demands the commitment of schools to improve
the performance of every student. Transitions:
- Requires high student performance in meaningful content
- Builds school capacities to support the learning of each student
- Focuses on each student's success
- Promotes effective employee skills
- Integrates career awareness
- Requires the commitment and involvement of the school and community
